Ashanti and Nelly’s Baby Already Has a Nickname – Meet KK!

After welcoming their first child together in July 2024, rapper Nelly and R&B singer Ashanti are already smitten with their new little bundle of joy. The couple announced the arrival of their baby boy, Kareem Kenkaide Haynes, and have given him a loving nickname – KK.

Ashanti took to social media to celebrate her new status as a mother, sharing a carousel of images showcasing her body, the baby’s birth, and her journey into motherhood. In her caption, she candidly shared her thoughts on parenthood, writing, “Funny how life’s plans aren’t…always on time… lol. I’ve been waiting to be a mom for a long time now, but nothing could prepare me for EVERYTHING motherhood brings!”

The postpartum celebration also highlighted Ashanti’s physique, with the singer proudly declaring, “This is what postpartum looks like… I’m so proud of my body for giving me my baby, baby, baby, baby, baby.”

Nelly and Ashanti’s whirlwind romance began when the rapper appeared on the same stage with Ashanti during a Verzus concert between Fat Joe and Ja Rule, which marked the first time the couple had been seen together since their breakup. The couple announced their reconciliation in September 2023 on the Boss Moves with Rasheeda Show.

The couple tied the knot on December 27, 2023, with Ashanti becoming a mother for the first time at the age of 42. Nelly, 49, has two children from his previous relationships – Cornell III, 25, and Chanelle, 30. Interestingly, Nelly raised his sister’s two children, Sydney and Shawn, after she passed away in 2005 at 31.

In addition to their personal life, the couple is also co-owners of Proov, a diagnostics company that provides at-home tests to aid in the conception process, giving users accurate, inexpensive, and speedy results.
