Renowned Nigerian actor Yusuf Olorungbebe has passed away, according to a statement made by actress Foluke Daramola on her verified Instagram page on August 28, 2024. The news comes just four days after Daramola first informed Nigerians about Olorungbebe’s illness and requested financial assistance from the public.
Daramola announced Olorungbebe’s death, writing, “We lost Yusuf Olorungbebe… We submit to God’s Will. Thank You Everyone!”
Olorungbebe’s death was met with shock and sadness from the entertainment industry and fans alike. The actor was still on life support when Daramola initially reached out to Nigerians for financial assistance, stating that no amount was too small to help him recover.
In a subsequent post, Daramola thanked the Nigerian commissioner for culture and tourism, Toke Benson-Awoyinka, for reaching out and pledging to cover Olorungbebe’s outstanding medical bills. In a video posted on August 25, 2024, Daramola expressed her gratitude, saying, “I want to specially thank the commissioner for culture and tourism. Out of your busy schedule, you reached out to me and offered to foot all the outstanding medical bills in the hospital and other ones. We appreciate you so much, ma.”
