Ghanaian Politician Kofi Akpaloo Sets Shocking Condition for Daughter’s Marriage

Ghanaian Presidential Candidate’s Shocking Demand for Daughter’s Suitors

In a recent interview with Accra-based Kingdom FM, Kofi Akpaloo, the founder and presidential candidate of the Liberal Party of Ghana, made a stunning revelation about his requirements for his daughter’s potential suitors. According to GhanaWeb, Akpaloo stated that he will not give his daughter out in marriage if she hasn’t been impregnated.

The condition, reportedly meant to test the man’s potency and commitment to his daughter, is seen as a way to gauge the suitor’s seriousness and ability to take care of her. Akpaloo believes that impregnating his daughter will demonstrate the suitor’s ability to provide for her and take care of her needs.

"I cannot make her go through the struggles with childbirth, so I will gauge your seriousness as a man only when you impregnate her," Akpaloo was quoted as saying. "Fact is, I will even want her to get pregnant and give birth before she is given out to the man for marriage."

Akpaloo also shared his personal philosophy on marriage, stating that a man should be married by the age of 27. He believes that marrying early allows individuals to plan their lives better and avoid the burden of taking care of children in retirement.

"If you don’t marry early, you will be on retirement and still be taking care of your last child, which should not be the case," Akpaloo said. "Sometimes people think about money, but when you have a woman in your life, your brain becomes sharp and you are forced to work to ensure that you’ll be able to provide for the family."

It’s worth noting that Akpaloo clarified that this is his personal philosophy and not a requirement for others. However, his comments have sparked controversy and raised questions about the role of women in Ghanaian society.
