PDP orders Wike to face disciplinary committee over anti-party activities

PDP Summons Minister Wike Over Alleged Anti-Party Activities

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced that Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, will face its disciplinary committee over alleged anti-party activities. The decision was made public by the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the party, Ibrahim Abdullahi, on Monday during an appearance on Channels Television’s program, Sunrise Daily.

According to Abdullahi, the PDP has written a letter to Wike inviting him to appear before the disciplinary committee set up by the party’s National Working Committee. The committee, headed by elder statesman Chief Tom Ikimi, will investigate issues of anti-party activities and alleged sabotage of the party during the primary elections.

Abdullahi stated that the party has received petitions regarding Wike’s alleged anti-party activities and has aggregated them and sent them to the committee. He also revealed that some party members feel Wike should not have gotten to this level as a member of the PDP and have been writing to the leadership expressing their concerns.

The move comes after Wike threatened to cause a political crisis in the state PDP governors who interfere in the affairs of the party in Rivers State. The former Rivers State governor made the threat during the party’s state congress in Port Harcourt over the weekend.

Reacting to Wike’s threat, Abdullahi expressed disappointment and described the statement as wrong and unacceptable. He urged Wike to manage his words carefully, stating that the party was not expecting him to make such a remark.

The development has sparked controversy within the party, with many calling for Wike’s expulsion. The situation remains tense, with the PDP disciplinary committee set to investigate the allegations against Wike and determine the next course of action.
