PDP Disciplinary Committee Member Denies Summons of FCT Minister
A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Disciplinary Committee, Senator Olaka Nwogu, has disputed claims that the party summoned the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike. According to Nwogu, the party’s disciplinary committee has yet to meet and deliberate on issues concerning Wike.
The controversy surrounding Wike’s alleged anti-party activities has been circulating in the media, with the PDP’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Abdullahi, confirming that the party had summoned the FCT minister. However, Nwogu has dismissed these claims, stating that individuals familiar with the situation are spreading misinformation for personal reasons.
As a member of the disciplinary committee, Nwogu expressed his disappointment when the report of Wike’s summons surfaced, highlighting that the committee has not even met to discuss the matter. He also lamented the spread of misinformation, emphasizing that “there has been a lot of misinformation to the public sometimes by people who should know better, who shouldn’t do that for reasons they know best.”
The senator further noted that allegations are flying around, casting a different light on the committee’s work. According to Nwogu, the committee is still organizing itself to review its functions and consider the allegations against Wike.
It appears that the PDP’s disciplinary committee is yet to take concrete action on the matter, leaving many questions unanswered. Meanwhile, the controversy surrounding Wike’s alleged anti-party activities continues to dominate the headlines, with many eager to know the truth behind the claims.
