Diddy Sues to Reverse $100M Sexual Assault Verdict

Rap Mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs Seeks to Reverse $100 Million Judgment in Sexual Assault Case

Rap mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs is fighting back against a default judgment of $100 million in a lawsuit alleging sexual assault. The judgment was issued against Combs after he failed to appear at a virtual hearing, despite never being served with the lawsuit. In an emergency motion, Combs’ attorneys claim that the lawsuit is frivolous and based on fabrications.

According to AllHipHop, Combs filed the motion seeking to have the judgment overturned. The outlet reported that attorneys filed two motions relating to the case after Judge Anna Marie Anzalone ruled that Combs pay Derrick Lee Cardello-Smith, the plaintiff, after Combs failed to appear at the virtual hearing.

In the motion, Combs’ attorneys described the lawsuit as "frivolous" and accused Cardello-Smith of being a "convicted felon and serial litigant with an overactive imagination and a thirst for fame." They also claimed that Combs, who was never served with the lawsuit, only learned about it three days ago when media outlets reported the default judgment.

Cardello-Smith claims that Combs visited him in prison and offered him $2,300,000 to drop the charges against him. Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, responded to the judgment, stating that Cardello-Smith has a history of committing fraud on the court from prison and that Combs looks forward to having the judgment swiftly dismissed.

This is not the first time Combs has faced allegations of sexual assault. He faces multiple lawsuits alleging sexual assault, abuse, and other criminal behaviors, including a recent lawsuit filed by Dawn Richard. Combs has denied all allegations against him.

The outcome of this case will likely be closely watched by fans and followers of Combs, as well as those who have been affected by allegations of sexual assault and harassment in the entertainment industry.
