Nigerian Army Rescues 20 Kidnapped Victims, Neutralizes Four Suspected Bandits

In a significant breakthrough, the Nigerian Army has rescued 20 kidnapped victims and neutralized four suspected bandits in Kaduna State. The successful operation was carried out by troops of Operation Forest Sanity and Sector 6 Operation Whirl Punch in Birnin Gwari and Giwa local government areas.

According to a statement issued by the Overseeing Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr. Samuel Aruwan, the troops embarked on special clearance operations in the general area of Alawa in Birnin Gwari LGA. During the operation, they set up a blocking force and sighted bandits’ movement around Kwaga, neutralizing two of them.

The commissioner revealed that the troops recovered two AK-47 rifles, three magazines, three motorcycles, and one Baofeng Radio during the operation. In a separate report, troops of Sector 6 Operation Whirl Punch conducted fighting patrols around Nakwakina village in Giwa LGA, following credible intelligence. The troops laid an ambush along a likely terrorists’ withdrawal route and engaged the terrorists, neutralizing two of them while others escaped with bullet wounds.

The rescued kidnapped victims were freed from the kidnappers’ den, bringing relief to their families and loved ones. The Nigerian Army’s efforts have sent a strong message to criminals that they will not be tolerated in the country.

The success of the operation is a testament to the bravery and professionalism of the Nigerian Army troops, who have been working tirelessly to maintain peace and security in the region.
