Ruud van Nistelrooy Commits to Assist New Manchester United Coach Ruben Amorim

Manchester United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy has expressed his commitment to support the club’s newly appointed coach, Ruben Amorim. Initially considered as a candidate to replace Erik Ten Hag after his dismissal, van Nistelrooy has decided to remain with the team in an assistant capacity.

In a recent post shared through Fabrizio Romano’s social media account, van Nistelrooy stated, “Staying here with Amorim? I’m here to help.” He emphasized that Manchester United would be the only job he would accept as an assistant, adding, “I have to say, I really enjoyed the role.”

The former striker took pride in his contributions, saying, “I committed myself to the role of assistant manager, and I did it with great pride.” Van Nistelrooy’s commitment comes after a successful stint as caretaker manager, where he led the team to a convincing 5-2 victory over Leicester City in the League Cup, securing a spot in the quarter-finals.

Having joined Manchester United last summer, van Nistelrooy is now focused on collaborating with Amorim to help the team improve its standing. Currently sitting 13th in the English Premier League, United is set to face Chelsea this Sunday, aiming to turn around a challenging season.

Media Talk Africa reported on Friday that Amorim has officially taken over as Manchester United’s manager, marking a new chapter for the club.
