‘We support Tax Reform Bill’ – Benue State Govt

The Benue State Government has declared its support for the proposed tax reform bills before the National Assembly.

The bills, which are currently before the National Assembly, are enmeshed in controversy.

The Benue State Commissioner for Finance, Budget, and Economic Planning, Michael Oglegba, on Monday, during an interview with journalists in Makurdi, expressed the readiness of the state government to support the Federal Government’s effort to enhance revenue through taxation.

Oglegba said: “The tax reform bill is largely a good bill. We support the effort of the Federal Government to grow tax revenues.”

The tax reform is being resisted by several states in the North, including senators in the National Assembly.
