EPL: Best time to get injured – Rio Ferdinand tells Bukayo Saka

Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand, has said Bukayo Saka’s latest injury setback could be a blessing in disguise for Arsenal.

The former England international reckoned that the setback would give the attacker enough time to rest.

Media Talk Africa reports that Saka left the pitch on crutches after picking up a hamstring injury during the Gunners’ emphatic 5-1 victory over Crystal Palace at the weekend.

He is expected to stay away from the game for some period of time and Rio Ferdinand sees some positives in the situation.

“If there was a perfect time to get injured, it would be now,” Ferdinand told Sky Sports.

“If he was going to be out for any spell, it would be over this Christmas period.

“You look at the games that they’ve got coming up, no Champions League, [it] gives [Saka] a bit of time to rest.

“I think if he’s out for a bit of time now, it’ll put them in good stead when it kicks in around January, February time,” he added.
