New Ohanaeze Ndigbo President General visits Gov Otti to show appreciation

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has said that his interest and that of his fellow governors from the states that make up the Ohanaeze Ndigbo is the development and unity of the people.
Governor Otti spoke at his Umuehim Nvosi country home in Isiala Ngwa South LGA when he received the newly elected President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Senator John Azuta Mbata, and the Deputy National President, Prince Okey Nwadinobi. They visited to express their personal gratitude to him for his support and that of other governors, which facilitated their emergence in the recently conducted Ohanaeze Ndigbo election.

Otti expressed confidence in the new President-General’s ability to succeed, based on his capacity and track record.

“I can vouch for you. I was very pleased when you showed interest. My colleagues and I also looked at it, and we said if people like this are showing interest, they should be given an opportunity,” Governor Otti stated.

Otti reiterated his belief that leadership is about the welfare of the people. Hence his prioritisation of payment of salaries on or before the 28th of every month, construction of roads, and extension of infrastructure to rural areas to create access for the easy movement of people and their services.IMG 20250114 WA0044

Governor Otti went on to assure Senator Mbata of his support, as well as that of his colleagues, to ensure their success. He acknowledged that, although the job is challenging, he is confident that Senator Mbata will excel.

Earlier in his speech, Mbata thanked Governor Otti for his support, along with that of his fellow governors, acknowledging that their backing was instrumental in his emergence.
