2026 World Cup qualifiers top priority for Super Eagles – Chelle

Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has emphasised the need for the team to focus on their next 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.

The three-time African champions will take on the Amavubi and Warriors in matchday five and six fixtures in March.

Nigeria will need maximum points from both games to get their faltering World Cup qualifying campaign back on track.

The Super Eagles are yet to record a win in Group C, with three draws and one defeat from four games.

Chelle said it is important for the team to focus on the battle ahead.

“We are a strong team, and now we need to focus on World Cup qualification,” Chelle told the Super Eagles media.

“After that, in October, we can think about what comes next. But now, we need to be focused on one goal, and the goal is the next game against Rwanda.”
