Police arraign Portable for assault

The Ogun State Police Command has arraigned the controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, also known as Portable, in court.

Portable was arraigned on Thursday morning at the Isabo High Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

This comes a few hours after the singer surrendered himself to the police.

Media Talk Africa reports that the police declared Portable wanted on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, for allegedly assaulting three officials from the Ogun Planning and Development Permit Authority, OGPDPA.

Hours after being declared wanted, Portable surrendered himself to the Lagos State Police Command on Wednesday and was handed over to the Ogun police.

Portable, who had been on the run, was presented in court on Thursday to face charges.

Recall that the singer reportedly launched an attack on officials of the OGPDPA for attempting to seal his bar over a lack of approved permits and insufficient air space.

The incident led to the arrest and arraignment of Portable’s nine associates on a five-count charge of armed violence, felony, obstruction, assault, and intent to kill.
