Northern govs decry extra-judicial killing of 16 hunters in Edo

The Northern States Governors Forum (NSGF) has strongly condemned the brutal killing of travelers from Northern Nigeria in Udune Efandion, Uromi, Edo State.

In a statement signed by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General, Press Affairs, Government House Gombe, the forum’s chairman, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, described the attack as a severe violation of human rights.

He stressed that extrajudicial violence is unacceptable and must be condemned unequivocally.

“We are deeply disturbed by the loss of innocent lives and the horrific manner in which these individuals were attacked,” Yahaya stated.

The forum extended its condolences to the families of the victims and all those affected.

It also called on relevant authorities to conduct a thorough investigation, ensure that perpetrators are swiftly brought to justice, and take measures to prevent future occurrences.

Governor Yahaya emphasized that all Nigerians, regardless of region should be able to travel freely and safely without fear of violence or intimidation. He urged law enforcement agencies to act decisively while appealing for calm.
