Tinubu appoints Nasir Abdulsalam as Ajaokuta Steel Company MD

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Nasir Naeem Abdulsalam as the Managing Director of Ajaokuta Steel Company in Kogi State, effective from April 3, 2025.
The announcement was made in a statement released by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

The appointment is in line with the Certain Political and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc) Act of 2008, as amended.

Before his new role, Abdulsalam served as the Technical Adviser to the Minister of Steel Development and also held the position of Special Assistant (Academics) to the Director-General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS).

President Tinubu urged Abdulsalam to harness his experience in the steel industry to revitalise the company and stimulate vital industrial and economic activities across Nigeria.

The president emphasized that the appointment aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to position Nigeria as Africa’s leading industrial hub.
