NNL: Sokoto United must beat Wikki Tourists – Coach Ajeni

Sokoto United head coach, Peter Ajeni, has charged his players to rise to the occasion in their forthcoming encounter against Wikki Tourists.

The Caliphate club is set to face Wikki Tourists in the opening fixture of the second stanza of the season at the Giginya Memorial Stadium in Sokoto on Saturday.

Notably, Sokoto United remain unbeaten on home soil this season, a record Ajeni is determined to preserve.

Urging his players to show grit and resolve, Ajeni delivered a stirring address:
“This is more than just a match—it is a statement of intent. Let us maintain our 100 percent home record. I believe in every one of you.”

He added, “The commitment, the fight, the finishing we’ve displayed in training—if we replicate that, we won’t just beat Wikki Tourists FC; we’ll do so convincingly, and with pride.”

Ajeni further emphasised the deeper meaning behind the fixture, saying,
“We’re not merely chasing points—we are pursuing respect, belief, and our rightful place at the top of the table. This is our fortress, and no one comes here and walks away with anything. We play to win, and we play with heart.”
