Yomi Black celebrates 13th ‘ex-anniversary’ with former wife

Popular Nigerian filmmaker, Yomi Black, and his ex-wife, Elizabeth John, have celebrated 13 years of their separation.

Media Talk Africa reports that the estranged couple got married in April 2012 and welcomed their son in July 2015.

Recall that the duo met during the second edition of Nigeria’s pioneer business reality TV show, ‘The Intern.’

Hinting at their separation in 2021, Elizabeth said she’s “finally a free woman.”

However, celebrating what would have been their 13th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, Yomi Black described it as an “ex-anniversary.”

In a post shared on his Instagram story, the actor disclosed that they still maintain a cordial relationship despite the breakup.

“13 years ago! We broke up but still remain cordial. Happy ex anniversary…lol.”

Expressing surprise at the concept of an “ex-anniversary,” Elizabeth stated that she was not aware that such a celebration existed.

“Happy ex anniversary, Yomiblack. I didn’t know this was a thing till you called to wish it to me and I saw you posted it. God bless you and all your endeavors.”
