Odumodublvck Responds to Misogyny Allegations Amid Backlash Over Lyric

Renowned Nigerian hip-hop artist Odumodublvck, whose real name is Tochukwu Ojogwu, has recently spoken out against the accusations of misogyny that have been leveled against him. The controversy began when he made a statement in his 2023 collaborative song ‘Cast’ with Shallipopi, suggesting that some women may have to resort to sleeping with men to afford luxury items like wigs and designer handbags. This remark sparked widespread criticism, with many accusing him of promoting misogynistic views.

In a bid to clear his name, Odumodublvck appeared in an interview with The Beat FM in Lagos, where he vehemently denied the allegations. He described the claims of misogyny as “fake” and pointed to his track record of collaborating with female artists as evidence of his support for women in the music industry. Odumodublvck emphasized that he has featured more women in his music over the past year than any of his peers, which he believes contradicts the notion that he is a misogynist.

“I am the artist that has featured the most women in the game in the last year. What kind of misogynist is that? That’s a fake one,” he argued. By highlighting his collaborative efforts with female artists, Odumodublvck aims to demonstrate his commitment to empowering women in the music industry, rather than demeaning them. The artist’s response to the allegations has sparked a mix of reactions, with some defending his right to artistic expression and others continuing to criticize his perceived insensitivity towards women. As the debate surrounding Odumodublvck’s comments continues, it remains to be seen how his fans and the wider public will respond to his defense against the accusations of misogyny.
