Rapper Chris Brown arrested over 2023 London nightclub attack

Rapper Chris Brown was arrested early Thursday morning at a luxury hotel in Manchester in connection with a nightclub bottle attack in London.

Metropolitan Police officers detained the 36-year-old American artist just after 2 a.m. at The Lowry Hotel.

The arrest stems from an incident that took place on February 19, 2023, at Tape nightclub in Hanover Square, Mayfair, where Brown is alleged to have assaulted music producer Abe Diaw.

Diaw claims Brown carried out an unprovoked attack on him around 3 a.m. at the exclusive venue.

Brown had arrived in the UK on a private jet, landing at Manchester Airport the previous afternoon.

After inquiries by The Sun revealed his presence in the country, Met detectives traveled to Manchester to make the arrest.

He was taken into custody and is believed to be held at a local police station for questioning.

A Met Police spokesperson confirmed: “A 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 02:00hrs on Thursday, 15 May on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

He remains in custody. The arrest relates to an incident at a venue in Hanover Square on 19 February 2023.”
