Kiddwaya reacts to backlash after his monetary solicitation for Benue victims backfired

Big Brother Naija reality show star, Kiddwaya, has reacted to the ongoing public backlash over his call for donations for victims of the Benue massacre.

Media Talk Africa reports that suspected herdsmen had attacked and killed over 200 people in Yelewata community of Benue State last weekend.

In his reaction to the incident, Kiddwaya through his foundation begged Nigerians for financial donations, a request that didn’t sit well with the public.

His public appeal for monetary support, met with a backlash due to his flamboyant lifestyle on social media.

The development forced the reality star to immediately take down his appeal post on X.

However, reacting to the ongoing backslash, Kiddwaya said, “I am happy with the attention that I am getting, because it shines the light on how important the Benue crisis is. So I thank you all. However, the money donated will be used to help some of the families affected to provide shelter, clothing, feeding, and medicine.

“So, please email us if you are affected, and we will do our best to assist with your urgent needs”, he said.
