Tiwa Savage heartbreak inspires bloody tattoo session at home

Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has revealed that a recent tattoo was inspired by the pain of a heartbreak. In an interview with media personality Katy Igwe, Savage explained that she flew in a tattoo artist from Los Angeles to her home in Lagos to create the tattoo in private.

Savage opted for a private tattoo session to avoid expressing her emotional pain in a public tattoo parlour. She desired a comfortable environment, away from the potential distractions and attention that could come with getting a tattoo in a public setting. The singer recalled that the tattoo session was intense, with her tattoo artist expressing concern over the extent of the design.

According to Savage, the tattoo artist was taken aback by the tattoo’s design, asking if it was intended to be permanent. As the tattooing process began, the artist’s concerns grew due to the amount of blood involved. Savage acknowledged that the experience was challenging, but it was a way for her to cope with the emotional pain she was feeling at the time.

The singer attributed the tattoo to a recent heartbreak, stating that the experience was a way for her to express her emotions. Savage reflected on the past two years, describing the relationship she was in as “crazy” and expressing relief that it has ended. The singer’s decision to get a tattoo serves as a testament to the emotional turmoil she endured during that period.

Tiwa Savage’s revelation provides insight into the personal struggles that artists often face, and how they may choose to express themselves through their art or other forms of self-expression. The singer’s experience highlights the importance of prioritizing one’s emotional well-being, particularly during difficult times. As Savage continues to navigate her career and personal life, her story may serve as a reminder to fans and fellow artists alike of the significance of self-care and emotional expression.
