P-Square's feud spiritual - Bracket

Nigerian musician Obumneme Ali, known as Smash of the duo Bracket, recently shared his perspective on the long‑standing feud between Peter and Paul Okoye of P‑Square. Speaking on the AFRIMMA Podcast alongside his bandmate Vast, Smash described the disagreement between the twin brothers as “spiritual” in nature.

Smash said he has a closer relationship with Paul Okoye, yet he also maintains a good rapport with Peter, often visiting his home and engaging in conversation. When asked about the feud, he recalled a discussion with Paul in which he expressed the belief that the problem was not ordinary but spiritual, and Paul allegedly agreed with this assessment.

The conflict between Peter and Paul Okoye has been a topic of interest in the entertainment industry for several years. The brothers, who formed the popular music group P‑Square, were once celebrated for their close bond and collaborative work. Over time, however, their relationship deteriorated, leading to a public fallout. Their brother Jude Okoye, who was involved in the group’s management and creative process, was also drawn into the dispute.

Smash’s comments offer a unique insight given his personal connection to the Okoye brothers. By suggesting that the feud is spiritual, he implies that the issues extend beyond typical creative or business differences. The P‑Square brand, once synonymous with the brothers’ joint efforts, has suffered as a result of their disagreements, and both have pursued solo projects in recent years. Despite their individual endeavors, the legacy of P‑Square remains significant in the African music scene, underscoring the importance of collaboration and unity in achieving success.

As the situation between Peter and Paul continues to unfold, Smash’s remarks may spark further discussion about the underlying factors fueling their feud. With fans still hoping for a reconciliation, his observations provide a glimpse into the complexities of the brothers’ relationship.
