ADC coalition not national consensus to unseat Tinubu, APC tells Tambuwal — Daily Nigerian

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has dismissed claims of a national consensus to unseat President Bola Tinubu in 2027. APC spokesman Seye Oladejo said the emerging consensus actually supports good governance and is likely to reinforce Nigerians’ trust in President Tinubu when the time comes. He was responding to Senator Aminu Tambuwal, a former governor of Sokoto State, who described the plan to remove Tinubu in 2027 as a national consensus rather than a northern conspiracy.

Oladejo argued that Tambuwal’s statement attempts to rewrite the truth: Nigerians overwhelmingly rejected the opposition in the 2023 elections and continue to back the current government. Tinubu was elected by voters from every region, faith and background, and his administration has focused on performance rather than propaganda. The Renewed Hope Agenda has already produced visible results, including economic‑stabilisation measures and legacy infrastructure projects. Halfway through his first term, the nation is beginning to appreciate the clarity, courage and competence of his administration.

The APC spokesman urged Senator Tambuwal to clear his name before anti‑graft agencies, which still have unanswered questions about his tenure as governor of Sokoto State. He also dismissed the opposition parties’ talk of a consensus ahead of the 2027 general elections as laughable, noting the incompatible ambitions and conflicting interests of opposition leaders.

The APC remains focused on delivering for the Nigerian people—building roads, creating jobs, fixing power, reforming the economy and laying the foundation for a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria. Meanwhile, some opposition leaders have adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a platform to try to unseat President Tinubu in 2027. This development is being closely watched by Nigerians and the international community as the country prepares for its next general elections.
