APC dominance ends in 2027 says Dino Melaye

Former Nigerian lawmaker Dino Melaye has stated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will be defeated in the 2027 general elections. Melaye, who is now a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), made this declaration during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme.

The APC has been in power since 2015, when it won the presidential election and secured a majority in the National Assembly. However, Melaye believes that the party’s time in power is coming to an end. He cited issues of misgovernance and maladministration as key factors that will contribute to the APC’s downfall.

Melaye emphasized that Nigerians are now more prepared to defend their votes, suggesting that the 2027 elections will be closely contested. He noted that the opposition is better prepared and that the next electoral contest will not be a straightforward affair. The former lawmaker also accused the APC of mismanaging the country, stating that the party’s period of dominance is over.

Melaye’s comments come as the country prepares for the 2027 general elections. The ADC, which he represents, is one of the parties seeking to unseat the APC and its candidate, President Bola Tinubu. Melaye expressed confidence that his party will emerge victorious, stating that the ADC is the party that will unseat President Tinubu.

The 2027 elections are expected to be highly competitive, with several parties vying for power. Melaye’s comments suggest that the opposition is becoming increasingly confident of its chances of winning. As the country moves closer to the elections, it remains to be seen whether the APC will be able to maintain its grip on power or if a new party will emerge victorious.

The outcome of the 2027 elections will have significant implications for Nigeria’s political landscape. With the country facing numerous challenges, including economic and security concerns, the next government will need to address these issues effectively. Melaye’s comments have added to the growing speculation about the outcome of the elections, and it remains to be seen how events will unfold in the coming months.
