Eni’s subsidiary, Nigerian Agip Exploration Limited (NAE), has awarded postgraduate scholarships to 30 Nigerian graduates under its 2025/2026 Scholarship Awards Scheme. The scheme, created by the NNPC‑NAE PSC partners in 2007, aims to promote knowledge acquisition and bridge the skills gap in specialized fields relevant to deep offshore oil and gas operations in Nigeria.
Ten beneficiaries will undertake postgraduate studies at various universities worldwide, while the remaining awardees will study at Nigerian universities. Their disciplines include engineering, geosciences, petroleum and environmental technology, energy economics, renewable energy, and energy transition.
The scholarship award ceremony took place in Abuja, where Fabrizio Bolondi, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of NAE, congratulated the awardees and stressed the importance of using this opportunity to acquire valuable skills for the benefit of the country, especially within the energy industry.
The postgraduate scholarship scheme is part of Eni’s human‑capital development initiatives, which have benefitted 350 graduates to date. Through NAE, Eni has also implemented other sustainability projects in Nigeria, covering health, education, access to water, infrastructure, and stakeholder empowerment in local communities.
Eni operates in Nigeria through Agip Energy and Natural Resources (AENR) and Nigerian Agip Exploration Limited (NAE), holding interests in several deep offshore blocks. The scholarship awards reinforce Eni’s commitment to education, innovation, and capacity building in Nigeria. Developing local professionals and providing the necessary knowledge and skills for the industry are crucial for the country’s energy sector.
As Nigeria navigates the complexities of the global energy landscape, initiatives like the postgraduate scholarship scheme play a vital role in shaping future energy leaders. With a strong focus on education and capacity building, Eni is contributing to the growth and development of Nigeria’s energy industry, ultimately benefiting the country and its people.
