Hallelujah Challenge: My wife suffered 5 miscarriages, ectopic pregnancy - Nathaniel Bassey

Renowned gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey has opened up about a deeply personal experience, revealing that his wife, Sarah, endured five miscarriages, including an ectopic pregnancy. He shared this during the ongoing “Hallelujah Challenge,” a 25‑day worship series that began on October 7 and will run until October 31.

While leading the streaming worship sessions, Bassey explained that, despite his online commitments, he frequently visited Sarah in the hospital during her admissions. He noted that, as a minister, he has heard countless stories from others, but his own ordeal has given him a deeper understanding of the challenges many face.

Bassey recounted moments when he led praise and worship online even though he knew his wife had just suffered a miscarriage. He also described a time when Sarah was hospitalized for an ectopic pregnancy; he would leave her bedside to conduct the online session and return to the hospital afterward. The nurses caring for Sarah often praised the powerful online worship, unaware of the couple’s personal struggles.

Nathaniel and Sarah Bassey have been married since 2013, and the “Hallelujah Challenge” has become a significant part of their ministry, drawing thousands of participants to the online worship sessions. By sharing their story, the couple hopes to offer hope and encouragement to others experiencing similar hardships.

The challenge continues to provide comfort and inspiration for many, and Bassey’s revelation adds a new dimension to the worship experience. As the series runs through October 31, participants can expect more heartfelt sessions led by a man who has known both the joy and the pain of life’s challenges. His honesty and vulnerability remind followers that, even in the darkest moments, faith and worship can be sources of strength and comfort.
