Defection: 'I go nowhere, I’ll remain in APC' – Buhari’s Minister

Former Nigerian Minister of Transport Muazu Jaji Sambo has reaffirmed his commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring that he has no intention of defecting to another party. The statement was delivered through his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Dr. Sam Idiagbonya. Sambo, who served as a minister under the late President Muhammadu Buhari, remains a staunch supporter of the APC and believes in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, expressing confidence that Nigerians will soon begin to reap its benefits.

Having played a key role as the 2023 Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) campaign coordinator, which contributed to the current government’s rise to power, Sambo’s loyalty to the APC is unwavering. Dr. Idiagbonya described him as a dedicated loyalist and a firm believer in the Nigerian project, emphasizing his active membership in the party and commitment to its vision for the country’s development.

Sambo’s home state of Taraba is expected to contribute significantly to the Renewed Hope administration’s goal of achieving a one‑trillion‑dollar economy, particularly through the development of the agricultural sector. He has urged Taraba residents to remain resilient and work collaboratively with the government to create a better future for the state, fostering unity and cooperation that will drive progress and growth in the region.

As a key figure in Nigerian politics, Sambo’s commitment to the APC and the nation’s development is seen as a significant factor in shaping the country’s future. With his continued support for the Renewed Hope Agenda, he is poised to play an important role in the administration’s efforts to drive economic growth and improve the lives of Nigerians.
