Kebbi State Governor Dr. Nasir Idris reiterated his administration’s zero‑tolerance stance on insecurity throughout the state during a meeting with the Elders Consultative Forum in Birnin Kebbi. He emphasized that lasting peace requires collective effort and cooperation from government institutions, security agencies, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and citizens.
The governor’s administration has introduced several measures to strengthen the state’s security architecture. These include the establishment of a State Security Committee chaired by the governor, enhanced intelligence gathering, and investment in technology‑driven security operations. In addition, more Forward Operational Bases (FOBs) have been created in vulnerable areas to improve the security presence.
According to Governor Idris, these initiatives are already producing positive results. There has been a notable reduction in kidnapping and other criminal activities, particularly in Kebbi South, while improved surveillance has helped prevent infiltration into Kebbi North. The governor affirmed that his administration remains fully committed to maintaining peace and will continue to invest in security measures to protect the lives and property of citizens.
