Dangerous to pretend we didnt notice - Nicki Minaj on Trump designating Nigeria as CPC

The United States Ambassador to the United Nations, Mike Waltz, has invited singer Nicki Minaj to discuss the protection of persecuted Christians worldwide. The invitation follows Minaj’s recent post on X, where she condemned the alleged persecution of Christians in Nigeria and praised religious freedom in the United States. In response, Ambassador Waltz thanked her for using her platform to defend Christians and asked her to join a conversation about the issue.

President Donald Trump has designated Nigeria a “country of particular concern” because of alleged Christian genocide by Islamist groups. He ordered the Department of Defense to prepare for possible action against Islamic terrorists in the country. Minaj, a 12‑time Grammy‑nominated artist, highlighted these concerns in her social‑media message, prompting the ambassador’s outreach.

Waltz said, “I would love to speak with you in more depth about what our administration is doing to protect Christians’ freedoms all over the world.” He emphasized the need for collective action, adding, “We can’t allow this to continue. Every sister and brother of Christ must band together and say, ‘Enough!’”

The forthcoming discussion between Ambassador Waltz and Nicki Minaj is expected to focus on protecting religious minorities and the role of the international community in promoting freedom of religion. The U.S. designation of Nigeria as a “country of particular concern” underscores the gravity of the situation and the need for concerted action to safeguard vulnerable populations. As the global community continues to grapple with religious persecution, this conversation aims to shed light on efforts to promote religious freedom and protect persecuted Christians worldwide.
