Veteran Nollywood actor Baba Gebu is dead

Nigerian film industry veteran Oyewole Olowomojuore, popularly known as Baba Gebu, has passed away. The actor’s death was announced on social media by fellow actor and director Kunle Afod, who described him as a “great legend.” According to Afod, Baba Gebu died on Wednesday evening after a brief illness.

Colleagues in Nollywood quickly began paying tribute. Actor Yemi Solade prayed for the deceased, asking God to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest. Actor Akin Olaiya and actress Saje also expressed their condolences, wishing Baba Gebu a peaceful rest. Veteran actress Shola Kosoko mourned the loss, calling him a “legend” and hoping he finds peace. Abiodun Thomas encouraged the bereaved family, saying, “May God continue to bless all that you left behind.”
