BREAKING: I will clear my schedule to visit Benue Wednesday — Tinubu

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State have unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s sole presidential candidate for the 2027 election. The declaration followed a three‑day stakeholders’ meeting held at the residence of former National Chairman and Kano APC leader Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. Representatives from all 44 local government areas and 484 wards of the state attended, and the gathering was described by APC leader Umar Idris Shuaibu as a “strategic demonstration of unity and preparedness.”

Shuaibu praised Ganduje’s work in consolidating party structures and fostering grassroots cohesion, stating that “Kano stands firmly behind Tinubu.” He highlighted Ganduje’s role in ensuring the APC operates as a disciplined, cohesive, and mobilised party. During the meeting, key resolutions were adopted to maintain coordination across wards, strengthen party offices, and prepare for upcoming elections. Ganduje also instructed that all local government and ward offices remain functional to accommodate new members defecting from opposition parties, a move seen as a strategic step to bolster the party’s support base ahead of 2027.

The APC’s decision to endorse President Tinubu reflects its commitment to unity and its preparation for the forthcoming election. With Kano State a significant political stronghold, the endorsement is likely to influence the party’s national strategy. As the 2027 election approaches, the APC will focus on consolidating its support base and strengthening its structures to ensure a strong showing at the polls, and its efforts will be closely watched in the coming months.
