The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) carried out a successful airstrike on December 14, 2025, against a terrorist logistics base in Borno State, neutralizing scores of insurgents. The target was a known terrorist site at Dabar Masara in Southern Tumbuns, Monguno Local Government Area. According to NAF spokesman Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the Air Component of Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai acted on credible intelligence that indicated a terrorist workshop and sustained movement of armed elements in the area.

An integrated force package was deployed to conduct coordinated intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions, followed by strike operations. Earlier ISR missions had documented repeated terrorist movement and a significant concentration of vehicles hidden beneath vegetation, confirming the location as an active logistics hub. On the day of the operation, further surveillance validated these findings, observing terrorists maneuvering around the site and the concealed vehicles. After positive identification and in strict compliance with the Rules of Engagement, the targets were engaged.

A post‑operation Battle Damage Assessment confirmed the destruction of the identified vehicles and the neutralization of terrorist personnel. The mission underscores the NAF’s commitment to intelligence‑driven, precise air operations that support national efforts to degrade terrorist networks and enhance security in the North‑East. By destroying the logistics base, the NAF dealt a significant blow to insurgents, disrupting their ability to plan and execute attacks.

The operation highlights the importance of coordinated ISR and precision targeting in counter‑terrorism, minimizing civilian casualties and protecting non‑combatants. It also reinforces the need for continued collaboration among security agencies to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable solution to the terrorist threat and to support the government’s goal of restoring peace and stability in the region.
