Carter Efe loses Twitch account weeks after viral livestream with Davido

Nigerian comedian and content creator Carter Efe was temporarily suspended from Twitch just days after a viral livestream with Afrobeats superstar Davido propelled him to the top of Africa’s Twitch rankings. The December 17, 2025 broadcast attracted global attention and helped Carter Efe amass more than 405,000 followers, making him the continent’s most‑followed streamer.

On Monday, Carter Efe announced that Twitch had imposed a four‑month suspension on his account for alleged breaches of its Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. The platform did not disclose the specific violations that triggered the action. The suspension follows his recent surge past well‑known Nigerian streamers such as Shank Comics and the delivery of one of Twitch’s most‑viewed livestreams in collaboration with Davido.

Fans quickly took to social media to voice their support, calling Carter Efe a “joy giver” and urging Twitch to review and possibly reverse the suspension. Online speculation suggests the ban may have stemmed from mass reporting related to comments or behavior during the livestream, though claims that he was banned from other digital platforms were later disproven.

The timing of the suspension, during the festive period, has left many followers disappointed and hopeful for a swift, positive resolution. The incident underscores the importance of adhering to community guidelines and terms of service on social media platforms. As the case develops, supporters await further updates, hoping Carter Efe can return to streaming and continue entertaining his audience.
