Mutfwang assures Tinubu of 1 million votes from Plateau, as he officially joins APC

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has voiced confidence that the state will deliver one million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the next election, noting that Plateau is now more united than ever. He made the statement while receiving his All Progressives Congress (APC) membership card in Jos, the state capital, on Friday. Mutfwang emphasized his long‑standing commitment to a united Plateau and expressed optimism that the “building blocks of unity” are finally coming together, paving the way for a more harmonious state.

The governor also acknowledged the emergence of a new political formation he called the “Plateau Peoples Party,” which operates on the APC platform. Addressing skeptics hesitant to switch from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC, Mutfwang urged patience, saying time will reveal the truth to those who are fearful. He described the journey ahead as one of faith, trusting that God will reward those who rely on Him, and he believes Plateau State will benefit from this new union.

Reflecting on his relationship with President Tinubu, Mutfwang recalled their June 3, 2023 meeting, during which he assured the president of his commitment to Tinubu’s administration and re‑election. He praised the president’s determination to tackle Nigeria’s challenges and affirmed his readiness to support those efforts. As a new APC member, Mutfwang hopes his counsel will now be taken more seriously and looks forward to ensuring that Plateau State is well represented in national development discussions.

Mutfwang’s decision to join the APC marks a significant shift in the state’s political landscape. With his pledge to deliver one million votes for President Tinubu, he is optimistic about a peaceful election in 2027. As Plateau moves forward, the impact of this new alliance on the state’s political future and its relationship with the federal government remains to be seen.
