AIG Kwaimo Assumes Duty as New Zone 12 Police Headquarters Boss

The Zone 12 Police Headquarters in Bauchi has announced the commencement of duty of Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Vungmoh S.M Kwaimo, as the 31st Assistant Inspector-General of the zone, covering Bauchi and Gombe states. AIG Kwaimo assumed leadership of the Zonal Headquarters on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, taking over from AIG Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, who retired from the force due to age.

In a statement issued by the Zonal Public Relations Officer, SP Jalige Mohammad, AIG Kwaimo expressed his gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, for the opportunity to serve in this capacity. He pledged to uphold professionalism, dedication, and results-oriented policing to ensure the security and safety of Bauchi and Gombe states.

AIG Vungmoh was born on December 25, 1966, in Garkawa District, Mikang Local Government Area of Plateau State. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, which he obtained in 1988. He enlisted in the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police on May 18, 1992, and underwent training at the Police Academy Annex in Kaduna.

Throughout his career, AIG Kwaimo has held various operational, investigative, and administrative positions across the country. His vast experience and expertise are expected to enhance the effectiveness of the zone’s policing strategies. As the new Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Kwaimo is committed to building on the achievements of his predecessor and advancing the zone’s security objectives.
