The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has taken a significant step toward growth and improved electoral competitiveness by inaugurating a 20‑member membership revalidation committee. Chaired by Kashim Imam, with Aisha Yesufu as deputy chairperson and Dr. Sekonte Davies as secretary, the committee will oversee nationwide revalidation, fresh registrations, and grassroots mobilisation.
Senator David Mark, the party’s national chairman, said the initiative aligns with the ADC’s founding principles of justice, equity, accountability, and people‑centred governance. Its primary goal is to ensure the party possesses credible, verifiable membership data—essential for legitimacy, relevance, and national political success. The revalidation exercise will employ both electronic and manual platforms to guarantee transparency and proper documentation, and new membership cards featuring state‑specific security features will be introduced.
Senator Mark urged committee members to act with integrity, fairness, and inclusiveness while collaborating with state and local leaders across the country. The committee has 30 days to submit its report, and chairman Kashim Imam pledged diligent and transparent service. Imam described the exercise as a turning point aimed at rebuilding the ADC into an inclusive, people‑driven movement nationwide.
The committee has already begun work, mobilising and registering Nigerians throughout the country. This membership revalidation is part of a broader effort to strengthen the ADC’s position in the political landscape. By focusing on growth, unity, and cohesion, the party seeks to enhance its electoral competitiveness and increase its relevance in national politics. The success of this exercise will be crucial in determining the party’s future prospects and its ability to achieve its goals.
