Kaduna Poultry Project to Generate $450m Annually

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has reaffirmed the potential of the proposed $200 million Mega Poultry Project, stating it will generate over $450 million in annual revenue and create more than 350,000 direct and indirect jobs. The project aims to enhance food security, empower smallholder farmers, and establish Kaduna State as a leading hub for modern agribusiness in Africa.

During a meeting with the Minister of Livestock Development, Alhaji Idi Maiha, Governor Sani emphasized the need for federal and state collaboration ahead of the project’s groundbreaking ceremony. He expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for selecting Kaduna State to lead this initiative.

The governor’s commitment to the project was further solidified during his visit to China on December 7, 2025, where he toured CP Foods Layers and Eggs (Beijing) Ltd. at the invitation of the Chinese government. The facility, which produces nearly three million eggs daily, served as a model for the proposed project in Kaduna State. Governor Sani highlighted the potential benefits of the partnership, including increased food security, a broader agro-industrial base, and durable employment opportunities.

The $200 million Mega Poultry Project is expected to have a significant impact on the local economy, with projected annual revenues exceeding $450 million. The project’s focus on modern agribusiness and technological empowerment is also anticipated to position Kaduna State as a continental exemplar in the field. With the groundbreaking ceremony approaching, the collaboration between federal and state authorities is crucial for the project’s success.

As the project moves forward, it is likely to attract attention from stakeholders in the agriculture and business sectors, both domestically and internationally. The potential for job creation, economic growth, and food security enhancement makes the Mega Poultry Project a significant development in Kaduna State and the wider region.
