The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kano State has promoted 265 officers and men to new ranks, following approval from the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB). A decoration ceremony was held at the NSCDC Command Headquarters in Kano, where the State Commandant, Mohammed Hassan Agalama, congratulated the officers on their well-deserved promotions.
The promotions are a recognition of the officers’ dedication, discipline, and commitment to duty, according to Commandant Agalama. He urged the newly promoted officers to view their new ranks as a call to greater responsibility and improved service to the public. The Commandant also emphasized the importance of upholding the core values of the Corps, including integrity, patriotism, loyalty, professionalism, and respect for constituted authority.
The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Hon. Sheikh Abdulhakim Kamilu Ado, member representing Wudil and Garko Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, who served as the special guest of honour. Senior officers of the Command, representatives of sister security agencies, family members, and well-wishers were also in attendance.
Commandant Agalama stressed that professionalism, teamwork, and strict adherence to operational guidelines are crucial in achieving the Command’s mandate of protecting critical national assets and ensuring public safety across Kano State. He warned against acts of indiscipline and unprofessional conduct, emphasizing that the Command will not tolerate any behaviour that could bring the Corps into disrepute.
The promotions and decoration ceremony are a significant development for the NSCDC in Kano State, highlighting the Corps’ commitment to recognizing and rewarding excellence among its personnel. The event also underscores the importance of collaboration and cooperation between security agencies and other stakeholders in maintaining public safety and security. As the NSCDC continues to play a critical role in protecting national assets and ensuring public safety, the newly promoted officers are expected to contribute to the Corps’ efforts in maintaining law and order in Kano State.
