Grammy-winning artist Rihanna has departed Los Angeles, following a shooting incident at her Beverly Hills residence that resulted in the arrest of a suspect identified as Ivanna Lisette Ortiz.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident occurred on Sunday when Ortiz, 48, drove a Tesla to the singer’s property. Police report she was armed with a semi-automatic rifle and discharged approximately ten rounds toward the home, which Rihanna shares with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky. Investigators documented four bullet holes in the estate’s gate, with additional rounds striking a garage at a neighboring home. No occupants were present at the time, and there were no injuries.
Ortiz fled the scene in her vehicle but was apprehended roughly 12 kilometers from the property later that day. The Tesla was recovered by authorities. She was formally booked on charges of attempted murder with a firearm. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office is prosecuting the case. A motive remains under active investigation by detectives.
Rihanna, the global music star and founder of the Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty brands, was seen boarding a private jet at Van Nuys Airport on Monday, hours after the shooting. Her departure was noted by local media observing luggage transported to the airport’s private terminal. The timing of her travel has not been officially linked to the incident, and representatives for the singer have not issued a public statement.
The Beverly Hills shooting brings heightened attention to security for high-profile individuals. The LAPD confirmed the investigation is ongoing, with forensic and digital evidence being analyzed. Ortiz is currently in custody, and her next court appearance has not yet been scheduled.
The case underscores the legal severity of charges involving firearms and targeted attacks on private residences. Authorities continue to examine the suspect’s background and possible connections to the singer as they work to establish a definitive motive for the alleged assault.
