Kunle Afod Calls Out Ondo Governor Over Poor Infrastructure in Ose LGA

Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is facing public criticism from Nollywood actor and filmmaker Kunle Afod over the dire state of infrastructure and public services in Ose Local Government Area.

Afod, who had been appealing to the state government for nearly a month, took to social media on Monday evening to publicly call out the governor, accusing him of ignoring the basic livelihood needs of residents.

In a video posted online, Afod highlighted the lack of electricity in several communities, noting that some areas have been without power for two decades, while Idoani alone has been in darkness for eight years.

He also drew attention to the collapse of the education system, citing the example of CAC Nursery and Primary School in Idoani, where all teachers have reportedly left and children no longer attend classes. Afod said that multiple schools under Ose LGA are in similar disrepair.

The actor further criticised the poor road network, stating that there are no accessible roads to many communities in the area. He described the health system as “totally bad,” claiming that all general hospitals in Idoani have been shut down. Additionally, he noted the absence of commercial banks, which he said has further isolated the region economically.

Afod urged Governor Aiyedatiwa to collaborate with local representatives, including the Chairman of Ose LGA, Hon CK Ojo, as well as the area’s House of Representatives member, state assembly members, and senator, to address the ongoing neglect.

“How long will Ose Local Government continue like this?” Afod asked, calling for urgent intervention to restore basic services and infrastructure.

The public outcry underscores growing frustration among residents over what they perceive as systemic neglect by state authorities, with calls for immediate action to improve living conditions in the area.
