Rotimi Salami Hospitalised After Serious Health Scare, Thanks God

Nollywood actor Rotimi Salami has been hospitalised following a serious health scare, according to a statement posted on his Instagram account on Monday. In the post, Salami shared a photo of himself lying in a hospital bed and revealed that he narrowly escaped death within the past 48 hours.

The actor, known for his roles in several Nigerian films, attributed his survival to divine intervention. “I survived the last 48 hours because God said yes,” he wrote. Salami also acknowledged the toll his recent work has taken on his health, particularly his involvement in the cinema film Kilanko, which was released in honour of the late Allwell Ademola. “I’m not the type to say ‘Devil is a liar’ because I’ve truly stressed this body. Kilanko has taken too much from me,” he added.

Kilanko, a Yoruba-language film, has been a significant project for Salami, both professionally and personally. The movie, which pays tribute to the late actor Allwell Ademola, has been widely discussed in Nollywood circles. Salami’s health scare has raised concerns among fans and colleagues about the pressures faced by actors in the Nigerian film industry.

Details about the nature of Salami’s illness have not been disclosed, but his message suggests that exhaustion and overwork may have contributed to his condition. The actor’s post has sparked an outpouring of support from fans and fellow actors, many of whom have wished him a speedy recovery.

Salami, who has been a prominent figure in Nollywood for years, is known for his versatility and dedication to his craft. His recent health scare serves as a reminder of the physical and emotional demands placed on actors in the fast-paced and competitive Nigerian film industry.

As of now, there is no official update on Salami’s condition or when he is expected to be discharged from the hospital. Fans and colleagues continue to monitor his situation closely, hoping for positive news in the coming days.
