APC Releases 2027 Election Timetable, Sets Nomination Fees at ₦100M

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled its timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 general elections, outlining a structured timeline for internal primaries, screening, and appeals across all elective positions. The schedule, signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, and announced by National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka, signals the formal commencement of the party’s preparations for the next electoral cycle.

According to the timetable, the process begins with the notice of election to state chapters on April 20, 2026. The sale of nomination and expression of interest forms will run from April 25 to May 2, 2026, with submission of completed forms due by May 4. Screening of aspirants for all positions—including presidential, governorship, Senate, House of Representatives, and State Houses of Assembly—will take place from May 6 to May 8, with presidential aspirants screened specifically on May 9. Results will be published on May 11, followed by appeals from May 12 to May 13.

Primary elections are scheduled to begin with the presidential primary on May 15 and 16, followed by House of Representatives primaries on May 18, Senate primaries on May 20, State House of Assembly primaries on May 21, and governorship primaries on May 23. Appeals arising from the primaries will be heard through May 25.

The party has also fixed nomination and expression of interest fees, with presidential aspirants required to pay ₦100 million, governorship candidates ₦50 million, Senate hopefuls ₦20 million, House of Representatives candidates ₦10 million, and State House of Assembly aspirants ₦6 million. Female aspirants, youths, and persons living with disabilities will pay only the expression of interest fee and 50 per cent of the nomination fee.

Morka reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to conducting credible, transparent, and fair primaries, emphasizing the party’s dedication to strengthening internal democracy and ensuring equal opportunity for all aspirants. The timetable reflects the APC’s intent to consolidate its progressive ideals while maintaining a structured and inclusive electoral process ahead of the 2027 general elections.
