Colleagues and fans of the late veteran actor Ojo Arowosafe, popularly known as Fadeyi Oloro, have continued to pay tribute to him since his death on Tuesday, 7 March 2023, after a protracted illness. Actor Yinka Quadri expressed his sorrow, saying, “Rest in peace, Fadeyi Oloro. I was saddened to hear of this huge loss in the entertainment industry.” Saidi Balogun simply wrote, “Rest on, Fadeyi Oloro.”

Comedian and actor Bayegun Oluwatoyin, aka Woli Arole, shared that he was grateful for having reached out to the veteran before his passing. He said, “I am so happy I reached out to you, sir. I am also happy that we played our part; so happy we laughed together, and were able to show our support. Rest in peace, the legend, Fadeyi Oloro. Let’s check up on people when they are alive. Let’s show love when people can feel it. Let’s help when it can be seen.”

Fans also voiced their admiration on social media. @thegamepundit wrote, “I know Fadeyi had been very ill for a while, but my joy is that he etched his name in gold.” @Eben_Ola described him as a “true Yoruba Nollywood legend, an entertainer to the core. Baba killed ghosts (in movies) to ‘re‑die’ those days, and his black‑face costume made him look wicked. May his soul find eternal peace.”

Fadeyi’s death came just weeks after London‑based Nigerian pastor Tunde Adegboyega pledged N3 million to him after seeing a video on Instagram where the actor could barely speak. The veteran had been battling an undisclosed ailment for years. In a 2022 interview with Saturday Beats, he appealed for financial assistance to cover his medical care, saying, “I really don’t know the nature of the illness. However, I intend to go for a ‘general test’ so they can ascertain the drugs to give me, instead of just giving me any kind of drugs. If people see me now, they would pity me. I am supposed to go to a hospital in Abeokuta, Ogun State, but there is no money.”
