The stage is set. After weeks of group-stage battles, stunning upsets, and heart-stopping drama, the 2026 World Cup field has been trimmed to 32. From this point forward, every match is a do-or-die elimination, with no room for error.
All three host nations—the United States, Mexico, and Canada—survived the group phase. But Mexico may be cursing its luck. La Seleccion drew arguably the toughest opponent of the trio: Ecuador, in a Round of 32 clash set for Mexico City on June 30.
The bracket has already produced a potential heavyweight collision course. France and Germany are on track to meet in the Round of 16, a matchup that could shake the tournament. Meanwhile, defending champions Argentina appear to have caught a break. They open against surprise qualifier Cape Verde, with the winner of Australia vs. Egypt waiting in the next round.
The knockout stage kicks off Sunday, June 28, when Canada takes on South Africa. From there, the tournament settles into a steady rhythm of three matches per day, culminating on July 3.
Here is the complete Round of 32 lineup.
