Manchester United’s attacking spearhead Marcus Rashford has rejoined the fold, one of nine new faces linking up with the squad for the club’s pre-season swing through the Republic of Ireland. The England forward, fresh from a taxing summer on the international stage, reported alongside fellow Three Lions teammate Kobbie Mainoo, both having featured prominently in the 2026 FIFA World Cup before Spain ultimately claimed the crown.

The pair made their way to Carrington on Sunday morning before boarding a private jet bound for Dublin, part of a travelling party that also included new arrivals Matheus Cunha, Matthijs de Ligt, Benjamin Sesko and Senne Lammens. Rounding out the group were Karl Darlow, JJ Gabriel and Tynan Thompson, as Michael Carrick’s side looks to build momentum ahead of the new campaign.

Yet the reunion wasn’t complete. There remains no sign of Lisandro Martinez, the Argentine defender still away following his country’s deep run in the World Cup. United’s coaching staff will be keeping a close eye on his return, with fitness and sharpness the priority as the squad gels in the coming weeks.
