EPL: It’s been difficult – Man City star on life under Pep Guardiola

Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips has opened up on life under Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.

The England international said that it has been difficult for him not playing on a regular basis at the Etihad Stadium the way he used to at Leeds United.

He, however, explained that he has enjoyed his life at the club despite struggling to establish himself as a regular for the Cityzens.

Phillips left Leeds United for City last year on an initial fee of £42 million, joining as a replacement for Fernandinho.

However, the England star has amassed just 56 minutes of Premier League playing time this season, suffering fitness issues that have hindered his progress further.

“It’s been very difficult to be honest. I knew as soon as I came into the team that I wasn’t going to be playing week-in week-out.

“I was going to have to build my way in and even now I’m still at that stage of building myself into the team. I’ve enjoyed it a lot and I’ve learnt a lot as well from the players and the manager, it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made,” he told Premier League YouTube channel.
