EPL: I was happy when Cristiano Ronaldo left Man Utd for Al-Nassr – Matic

Uros Matic, the brother of ex-Chelsea and Manchester United midfielder, Nemanja Matic, has revealed that he was happy when Cristiano Ronaldo joined Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr.

Ronaldo, 38, joined Al-Nassr after Manchester United terminated his contract by mutual consent last year.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has made a good start in the Saudi Pro League, scoring 12 goals so far.

Speaking to ArabNews, Matic said, “I was really happy when Cristiano came because it is good for all of Saudi football, for all of the players who play here.

“The league changed instantly — a lot of people now want to watch Saudi football and you can see how many TV stations bought the rights to stream Saudi football.

“He has raised the level and now the whole world is watching the Saudi Pro League.”
