Bola Ahmed Tinubu Unaware of APC’s Endorsement of Tajudeen and Kalu, Says Hon Yusuf Gagdi

As the 10th National Assembly’s inauguration draws nearer, intrigue becomes rife, and Yusuf Gagdi, a member of the House of Representatives representing the Pankshin/Kanam/Kanke federal constituency of Plateau State, stated on Tuesday that President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu was unaware of the APC’s endorsement of some lawmakers.

Gagdi’s statement was in response to the APC’s anointment of Abbas Tajudeen and Benjamin Kalu as Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Green Chamber in May.

Gagdi, alongside other aspirants, belongs to a group known as the G7, who are seeking the positions and oppose the APC’s decision.

Gagdi said: “The principal of our President-elect (Bola Ahmed Tinubu), whom I respect so much, and up until today, I don’t believe that he is aware of what is happening today or that it is his idea. That is why we keep challenging the party.”

The G7 members are Hon. Muktar Betara, Deputy Speaker Hon. Ahmed Wase, House leader Alhassan Ado-Doguwa, Sada Soli, Aminu Jaji, Miriam Onuoha, and Gagdi.

The President-elect’s swearing-in will be on May 29th, 2023, and the House of Representatives and Senate leadership will be inaugurated in June.
