Former governor of Kano State, Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, together with other notable personalities, commissioned a series of projects in Kaduna on Friday. The projects were commissioned as part of the Urban Renewal Programme of Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s administration.
The new Ungwan Rimi Market and nearby School and Emir Roads were commissioned by Kwankwaso, while Chief Bisi Akande, former interim national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, commissioned the expanded Bida Road on behalf of Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information.
Other personalities who commissioned various projects include Sen Ali Modu Sheriff, who commissioned the Kabala Flyover by Aliyu Makama Road, Barnaw and Ex-Vice President, Namadi Sambo, who commissioned the Raba link road.
Gov. El-Rufai, who was present at the commissioning, expressed his gratitude to the various personalities and emphasised that these projects are part of his administration’s efforts to improve critical public infrastructure across the state. He also noted that the projects will serve to link communities, attract investment and promote economic growth in the state.
It is important to note that some of these projects were part of the first phase of the urban renewal programme that was commissioned earlier this year by President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari.
Overall, the commissioning of these projects represents a significant milestone for the state and the beginning of a transformed Kaduna metropolis.
