Yoruba Nation Agitators Arrested by Lagos Police

The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended two Yoruba nation agitators who reportedly stormed Alausa Police Division in the early hours of Sunday. The police disclosed that the suspects were arrested while trying to gain entry into the station, chanting “Yoruba Nation has taken over”.

As confirmed by the Lagos PRO, Benjamin Hundeyin, @LagosPoliceNG, some police officers were injured while trying to disperse the fifteen agitators. The police also stated that the suspects were found with charms, dangerous weapons, and different offensive insignias bearing Yoruba Nation Army.

The spokesperson disclosed that the suspects claimed they came to officially inform the police that the United Nations had granted approval for the take-off of the Yoruba Nation. Meanwhile, other members of the agitators attempted to take over a radio station in Ibadan, Oyo State at the same time.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Idowu Owohunwa, warned all subversive elements to steer clear of the state, as the command is committed to bringing the full weight of the law to bear on them or any other elements that might attempt to disrupt the peace of the state.

The arrested suspects are currently helping the police in their investigation into the subversive plans of the group, as well as their network of sponsors, who will also be unveiled and brought to justice in the overriding interest of the internal security of the state.
